[SOLVED] Two or more Analysis using diferent AFLs

Open two Analysis using diferent AFLs, let say

AFL_MA
per = Param("Period",20,10,30,1);
mm = MA(C, per);
Filter = C > mm;

and

AFL_EMA
per = Param("Period",20,10,30,1);
mm = EMA(C, per);
Filter = C > mm;

Click the parameter button of Analysis and change period to 25,
select other Analysis and period of other AFL is changed to 25 too.

This is not a bug but it is expected behaviour.

Param functions are bound to ChartID. Basically originally all param functions were made for charts.

Since chartID for all analysis windows are zero it means that if having same param description in two or more different AFLs and if you apply them in two analysises then you will get outcome that you have observed in post #1.

One thing you could do is searching for gParam functions on Yahoo list and apply the AFLs to separate chart panes. Then from chart pane apply same each AFL to analysis. Params are changed from chart pane.

Best option for analysis is using hard coded params.

You don't even have to click "save" after each change. Just change param then hit explore/scan/backtest or whatever. AB automatically saves new AFl state before analyising.

Never said it was a bug!
But it is something that if you forget you might get unezpected results

Well, you posted in issues section. So it might be interpreted as bug by other users. But it is not an issue.

It simply is by design. That's why I posted it again in Basics section.
